CORRAL FOR CASH ROUND UP 2016
DESPERADOES RAISE BAIL FOR A GOOD CAUSE
Bath, NY – The Finger Lakes SPCA (FLSPCA) of Steuben County announces their October 7th Corral for Cash was a fundraising success. While some of our desperadoes are still working to collect their full bail, all won release from lock-up. This year’s event has raised over $7,000 thus far to help animal friends in need with still more bail pledges and funds forthcoming! Volunteers for the organization played out the entertaining desperado trials. The DisHonorable Judge (Darlene Squires) presided over the hearings while the Rootin Tootin Sheriff (Sue Arthur) kept tight order in the courtroom. Polly Pureheart (Vicki Mosgrove, E.D. of the FLSPCA) did her best to defend the honor of the desperadoes (all of which were guilty of crimes of compassion). In the end, the dishonorable judge required them to make sufficient bail for a very worthy cause! The event also featured an on-location broadcast with WVIN, musical entertainment (Gerych Girls, Brad Ordway & Ken Erway), barbeque dinner catered by Avoca Smoka, Steuben County 4-H visiting farm animals, Wild West Olympics, a raffle for a Restaurant 209 gift certificate and more.
The FLSPCA wishes to extend a huge thank you to all volunteers, everyone who helped and supported this fun fundraising event, our community and especially to the following 2016 desperadoes, who worked so very hard raising their bail in order to avoid a trip to the hoosegow and to help needy animals:
“Allie Oakley & Filly The Kid” (Alison Zimmerman & Asian), “Rapscallion” Joan Rogerson, WVIN Varmints/Dead Air Dave & Tongue Twisted Timon (Dave Taylor Smith and Timon Parsels), “SamSon & Delilah” (Sam & Vicki Presley), “Devilish Dames”/She Devil and LuciFur (Coleen Sprague & Lucy), Dianne “Diamond Girl”Canner, Annelouise (“Sweet Weezie”) Mullholland, and St. Francis (John Bradley).
We also wish to extend special appreciation to The DisHonorable Judge Squires (Darlene Squires) for spurring all desperadoes on to make bail and also raising additional funds herself in support of this event.
