Interested in Volunteering?

Volunteers Needed

We have need of volunteers in the following three areas. If you are interested, please e-mail Michael Hopkins, Interim Executive Director, at michael@fingerlakesspca.org, or call him at 607-622-5363. Application necessary with references. Volunteers who handle animals must be at least 18 years of age.

Dog Walkers
Commitment: To regularly walk dogs one session per week (you can do more than one session if you like, but it is most helpful if it is regular). Time is flexible but mid to late afternoon is preferred. Some training is required, especially when walking puppies or young dogs. Walking only on the grounds of the FLSPCA. Walking shoes required (no open-toed footwear, please).

Laundry Helpers
Commitment: Once a week, a minimum of two hours in the afternoon (ending not later than 4:30 pm), to assist the staff in doing laundry (mostly towels, sheets, and fleece blankets), folding and storing. We have two washing machines/dryers. This is a vitally important help to us as most of these items get cleaned after one day’s use.

Snow Shovelers
As needed after storms to help clear pathways, etc. around the property. If you can be “on call” on a particular day and/or time, that would be very helpful.

If you would like, you can also fill out the volunteer profile form ahead and bring it with you to the meeting. Otherwise you will receive it the day of your meeting.
